Welcome to the Carmel of Goonellabah!

We are an enclosed, contemplative community of nuns whose lives are dedicated to prayer for the needs of the Church and the whole world.

 

We live according to the Rule of Carmel, which was first used by the hermits living on Mount Carmel in the Holy Land in the early thirteenth century; and our way of life was established by Saint Teresa of Jesus, at Avila, Spain, over 450 years ago.
